Previous Mining experience isn’t a pre-requisite.  A focus on care, attention to detail, teamwork, organisational skills and sound Clinical skills will be highly regarded.

We are now seeking a Senior Site Nurse to join our Health, Safety and Risk team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Accountable to the Superintendent: Health and Hygiene.

This role is based at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster, we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie; with a short commute to camp base and site.
 

Accountabilities:
 

  • Primary medical and emergency treatment working closely with on-site Physiotherapist.
  • Provide timely reporting and updates on outcome and status of injuries and illnesses
  • Reviewed medical information providing guidance on fitness to return to work.
  • Management of the medical centre and equipment including compliance, calibrations, servicing and governance auditing.
  • Adhere to Medication protocols as per SASA and the Code of Practice for Health Service Permits.
  • Conduct or co-ordinate alcohol and drug screening, audiometric testing, lung function and other on-site health testing/assessments as required.
  • Prepare and maintain medical and health related records and registers and relevant reports/scorecards.
  • Review pre-placement and other medical assessments.
  • Orientate and support contracting Nurses as required for Shutdowns.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Health budget for capital and operational requirements to achieve the required targets.
  • Future proofing the capability of Health/Emergency Response capability to meet with the changing business requirements to deliver the LoM strategy.
  • Support the development and maintenance of processes for the work group creating a culture of continuous improvement to lift the efficiency and effectiveness of the work outputs.
     

About You

  • Previous experience as Registered Nurse with emergency experience
  • Registered Nurse (RN)  (NMBA/AHPRA registration) CRANA certification (desirable)
  • Intermediate Life Support (ILS)
  • Specimen Collection Authorised Drug Screen Collection Officer desirable
  • Proficiency in health and medical databases and Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience in injury management process and knowledge of Western Australian Workers Compensation System (desirable)
  • Broad understanding of health and safety and hazard and risk management processes
  • Experience and confidence to deliver health related presentations
  • Current full West Australian “C” class drivers licence
  • Existing and ongoing permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
