In Australia we own and manage the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine, and the Tropicana Gold Mine (70% AGA owned 30% Regis Resources). These are two of Western Australia’s premier gold operations, with ongoing investment and exploration taking place across both open pit and underground operations at each site.

We are now seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our Environmental team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. This role is accountable to the Manager: Environment Operations.
This position is site based on an 4 days on/3 days off FIFO roster, where operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
Role purpose:
To coordinate the environmental activities on site relevant to compliance with regulatory requirements, social license to operate, and the maintenance of systems and processes for continual improvement in environmental performance.
Accountabilities:
- Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations (DWER Part 4 and Part 5, DEMIRS, EPBC, NPI/NGER)
- Providing expert environmental advice to site leadership.
- Developing and implementing environmental improvement strategies.
- Maintain and oversee budget and forecast plans to achieve key business objectives
- Managing environmental projects.
- Conducting environmental audits and assessments.
- Building relationships with stakeholders.
- Providing leadership and mentorship.
About You
People are at the heart of everything we do. We want you to collaborate with us, share your ideas and feel confident to challenge the status quo. To be considered, we would like to see you have:
- A tertiary qualification in environmental management, or have equivalent industry experience, to lead a team to maintain operational compliance
- The ability to communicate across all levels of the business and positively influence others.
- A broad understanding of other mining disciplines including exploration, mining, processing, and maintenance activities.
- The skills to be outcomes focused; to know what we must do to maintain compliance and find new, innovative ways to do that.
- Knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements, hazard, and risk management
- A high level of attention to detail in relation to datasets with the ability to identify trends and potential outliers in datasets.
- The ability to write technical compliance reports that people want to read.
- Obtain a national police clearance
- Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
