These are two of Western Australia’s premier gold operations, with ongoing investment and exploration taking place across both open pit and underground operations at each site.

We are now seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our Environmental team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. This role is accountable to the Manager: Environment Operations.

This position is site based on an 4 days on/3 days off FIFO roster, where operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.

Role purpose:

To coordinate the environmental activities on site relevant to compliance with regulatory requirements, social license to operate, and the maintenance of systems and processes for continual improvement in environmental performance.

Accountabilities:

• Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations (DWER Part 4 and Part 5, DEMIRS, EPBC, NPI/NGER)
• Providing expert environmental advice to site leadership.
• Developing and implementing environmental improvement strategies.
• Maintain and oversee budget and forecast plans to achieve key business objectives
• Managing environmental projects.
• Conducting environmental audits and assessments.
• Building relationships with stakeholders.
• Providing leadership and mentorship.

About You

• A tertiary qualification in environmental management, or have equivalent industry experience, to lead a team to maintain operational compliance
• The ability to communicate across all levels of the business and positively influence others.
• A broad understanding of other mining disciplines including exploration, mining, processing, and maintenance activities.
• The skills to be outcomes focused; to know what we must do to maintain compliance and find new, innovative ways to do that.
• Knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements, hazard, and risk management
• A high level of attention to detail in relation to datasets with the ability to identify trends and potential outliers in datasets.
• The ability to write technical compliance reports that people want to read.
• Obtain a national police clearance
• Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
