In Australia we own and manage the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine, and the Tropicana Gold Mine (70% AGA owned 30% Regis Resources). These are two of Western Australia’s premier gold operations, with ongoing investment and exploration taking place across both open pit and underground operations at each site.
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Mine Surveyor (Underground) for our Tropicana Gold Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent: Surveying; this position is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster with direct flights provided from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
Role Purpose:
To coordinate the collection of accurate measurements and recording of mine workings including all survey data requirements and services for the operation safely, effectively and in accordance with operational and statutory standards within the required timeframes
Accountabilites:
- Be an active safety leader in line with our companies values, policies and procedures
- Supervision of underground surveying activities necessary for the efficient and safe achievement of targeted mine production of underground development, production, drilling and underground infrastructure projects
- Provide organisational capability by training and coaching
- Perform the processing of survey data and production of plans, reports and other forms of spatial information, including systems to ensure integrity and continued availability of data
- Contribute to implementation of appropriate systems and standards to ensure a continuous and cost-effective provision of services.
- Maintenance of survey and ancillary equipment.
- Preparation of statutory mine plans and reporting requirements
About you :
- A formal qualification in Surveying
- The possession of a Grade 1 Mine Surveyors Certificate (WA) is mandatory.
- Several years proven experience in the operation of underground mines sufficient to have qualified as above
- Leadership experience from a previous role held as Senior Surveyor
- Thorough understanding of Deswik mining software
- Usage of Leica instruments and Trimble GPS
- Experience with Exyn autonomous drones would be preferred
- Very good practical, planning and prioritising skills combined with the ability to build on the experience gained
- Innovative, have a strong desire to succeed with a demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
- Physically capable of performing tasks involving a considerable amount of lifting and manual handling
- Existing an ongoing permanent Australian working rights (mandatory)
