We have a new opening for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Maintenance team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Accountable to the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, the purpose of this role is to provide an electrical service for designated fixed plant and infrastructure across the mine site, to ensure reliable, efficient, and sustainable run time.
This is a 12 month contract role, offered on a Wednesday-to-Wednesday FIFO roster, 8 days on/6 days off from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
About the role
- Carrying out electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities to a high standard in the processing plant, as directed by Electrical Maintenance Supervisors.
- Perform fault finding on electrical and control systems, analyse causes of failures, and implement preventative measures.
- Maintaining crushing circuits, conveyor systems, ball mills, CIL, elution circuits, associated wiring, control systems, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- Carrying out electrical maintenance tasks in other areas, including the open pit, underground, bore fields, or other infrastructure areas, if required.
- Carry out installation of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment, and ensure all statutory compliances are met.
- Availability after hours on a “Call Out” and/or nightshift roster basis, when required, to respond to any equipment breakdown.
- Assist with shutdown co-ordination and execution.
About you

- A current WA electrical worker's licence issued under the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991.
- Cert IV Instrumentation. Experience with instrumentation and PLCs. Experience with Endress & Hauser and Allen Bradley preferable.
- High Voltage Switching Training, nationally recognised competency.
- Extensive experience in the maintenance of mineral processing or heavy industrial plants.
- Working at heights.
- Enter and work in confined spaces.
- Current first aid certificate and CPR.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience in SAP is preferred.
- WA driver's licence.
- Existing and ongoing permanent work rights in Australia (mandatory).
