These are two of Western Australia’s premier gold operations, with ongoing investment and exploration taking place across both open pit and underground operations at each site. 
 

The Opportunity 

We are currently seeking a Superintendent : Finance to join our site based team on a 4 days on/3 days off roster at Tropicana Gold Mine.
This is an
Operations-Aligned Finance Support role where you will act as a trusted financial business partner to guide, support, and elevate the mines operations.
  
This role reports to the Vice President  – Finance Australia and also is responsible for
supporting the General Manager, the site management team and the wider operational function with financial guidance and reports into VP Finance who is Perth based.

 

Role Purpose:

To deliver reliable, timely and accurate financial support to site operations by coordinating reporting, maintaining data integrity, and applying standard management accounting processes. The role works closely with operational teams to monitor costs, analyse variances, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with financial policies and controls. It contributes to effective decision-making through consistent reporting and basic financial insights, while maintaining efficient finance processes and supporting continuous improvement across the site.


Accountabilities: 

 

  • Coordinate and provide advice, training and coaching across all departments on business planning processes, accounting principles, discounted cash flow analysis and financial modelling.
  • Develop a team to act as a Finance Business Partner by identifying the specific development needs, providing opportunities for training, coaching, project and role assignment for the individual to develop towards their full potential.
  • Design and sustain timely and accurate high-performance reporting structures across finance, management, and operations
  • Coordinate, collate, verify and upload key financial components for site end-of-month (EOM) reporting and forecasting
  • Develop and optimise processes for data analysis and integrity, ensuring accurate reporting across site actuals, forecasts and budgets
  • Provide management accounting services to site and comply with AGAA Accounting policies, management systems and processes.
  • Work effectively with integrated processes for site wide accounts service function and develop well-defined accountabilities and set critical tasks for all direct reports. 

About You

  • Hold an Accounting Degree with CA/CPA or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years experience held as a Senior Accountant – mining not essential.
  • Previous exposure to month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, and cost control, ideally within mining, resources, or heavy industry, working closely with operational stakeholders to support decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor and over-see a small team
  • A strong commitment towards leading an inclusive work culture and upholding our values. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form relationships and liaise with people at all levels within the organisation. 
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills. 
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.

Have existing and ongoing valid Australian working rights (Mandatory).
