We are currently seeking a Superintendent Maintenance Engineering to join our productive Maintenance department at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on a permanent basis. This role is a based on a FIFO 4/3 or 8/6 or variant of from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
Accountable to the Manager: Maintenance & Engineering; this is a position that requires a highly collaborative senior with positive leadership; whilst contributing to the bigger picture.
Role Purpose:
To manage the site engineering function incorporating design, project management and long-term asset planning, ensuring effective engineering controls in place and facilitating continuous improvement to meet department and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical & Engineering Leadership: Oversee engineering reviews, design work across various scales, and site-wide drafting and document management functions.
- Team Mentorship: Lead, coach, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of Mechanical, Civil & Structural, and Electrical Engineers, alongside an Asset Integrity execution crew (blasters, painters, and concrete repair technicians).
- Project & Capital Delivery: Drive detailed scoping, project management, and successful implementation of maintenance and capital projects.
- Strategic & Financial Management: Own long-term strategic planning, equipment life-cycle costing, contractor engagement, and the delivery of operational and SIB capital budgets.
- Cross-Functional Support: Provide site-wide engineering support and foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety excellence.
About You
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Structural, or Electrical Engineering.
- Industry Experience: Extensive background in processing and fixed plant infrastructure maintenance within the mining sector (gold mining experience is highly desirable).
- Leadership Track Record: Proven experience leading, engaging, and coaching multi-disciplinary technical professionals and hands-on trade teams.
- Project & Financial Acumen: Demonstrated expertise in capital project delivery, engineering design, contractor management, and operational budgeting.
- Operational Skills: Strong proficiency in planning, scheduling, and executing multiple priorities simultaneously, with a robust focus on continuous improvement.
- Systems & Compliance: Familiarity with CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP) is advantageous. Holding (or a strong willingness to obtain) the Schedule 26 (S26) Statutory Supervisor Exam is required.
- Work Rights: Existing, permanent, and ongoing Australian working rights (Mandatory).
