We are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent – Metallurgy; to join our accomplished Processing Team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.
Accountable to the Processing Manager, this role is responsible for managing and continuously improving production activities to ensure the business unit meets or exceeds the plan. This is a FIFO position offered on a 8 days on/6 days off roster.
Accountabilities
- Assist the Process Plant Manager in the execution and achievement of the production plan
- Manage short-term production activities at the metallurgical plant (up to a 12 month planning cycle);
- Ensure that safety, health and environmental standards are complied with
- Plan and schedule production activities and liaise with maintenance staff on the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities
- Implement metallurgical accounting standards and manage metal accounting and reporting;
- Set performance expectations (KPIs) and delegate work to a team of direct reports
- Analyse production results and resolve operational problems
- Continuously optimise reagent consumption and use of resources
- Recommend improvement activities to senior management
- Ensure that all work is conducted according to approved standards and procedures
- Request specialist technical assistance when required to resolve technical operational problems
About You;

To be considered, we would like to see you have:
- Extensive professional experience within the mining industry and gold processing plants
- A Tertiary qualification held in Metallurgy, Process or Chemical Engineering
- Previous roles held at operational superintendent level or near to
- Working knowledge of Sulphide Ore Processing, including Flotation and Fine Grinding
- Production planning, maintenance planning and project management experience
- Proactive attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with other departments to achieve business goals
- A proficient level of computer skills and knowledge in MS Office
- Permanent work rights in Australia
