We are currently seeking a Superintendent: Engineering to join our busy Maintenance department at Tropicana Gold Mine on a permanent basis. This role is a based on a FIFO 8 days on/6 days off roster from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
Accountable to the Manager: Maintenance & Engineering this is a position that requires a highly collaborative senior with positive leadership; whilst contributing to the bigger picture.
Role Purpose:
To manage the site engineering function incorporating design, project management and long-term asset planning, ensuring effective engineering controls in place and facilitating continuous improvement to meet department and business objectives.
Accountabilities:
- Management of the Maintenance Engineering discipline for the Processing Plant, Underground Fixed Primary Infrastructure, Asset Integrity Remediation Works, and offer engineering support across the site as required.
- Lead and mentor a team of Mechanical, Civil & Structural, Electrical Engineers and the Asset Integrity execution team of Blasters, Painters and Concrete repair technicians to ensure KPI’s and work deadlines are met safely and efficiently.
- Effectively structure and deliver on the site engineering projects.
- Detailed scoping, project management and implementation for maintenance and capital projects
- Engineering reviews and engineering design for various scale engineering projects.
- Coordination of various engineering consultant work
- Over-seeing of site drafting & engineering document management function
- Long term strategic planning
- Life cycle costing for equipment
- Input into the development of operational and capital budgets
About you:
- Relevant engineering qualification (mechanical/structural)
- Similar level roles held with industry engineering experience
- Plant maintenance experience within the mining industry
- Strong engineering design experience
- Extensive experience in project management
- Demonstrated capital project experience
- A strong continuous improvement focus
- Ability to effectively plan work and manage multiple priorities
- Budgeting and cost management skills
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, engage, lead and coach a team of experienced professionals and technical personnel
- Existing and ongoing permanent Australian working rights (Mandatory)
