THE OPPORTUNITY
The Manager, Process Engineering is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring operational safety, integrity, maximum asset reliability, and strict statutory compliance of the processing facility. This position is central to driving maintenance excellence, engineering enhancements, and strategic reliability programs designed to optimize asset lifecycles safely and cost-effectively. Leading a diverse, multidisciplinary maintenance team, you will champion technical innovation and continuous improvement to deliver superior plant availability and performance..
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Safety, Risk, and Compliance:
- Champion a proactive safety culture by actively engaging teams and verifying critical controls to mitigate fatal risks.
- Serve as a key advocate for risk management, ensuring site readiness for insurance audits and compliance with local and international regulations.
- Enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental policies to sustain an injury-free workplace through behavior-driven safety initiatives.
- Direct incident investigations and compliance reporting, enhancing team competency in corporate ethics and governance.
Technical and Operational Excellence:
- Optimize maintenance planning, engineering services, and operational technologies to maximize plant performance.
- Provide authoritative technical guidance, ensuring adherence to operational best practices.
- Direct systematic Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and oversee prompt implementation of corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain robust Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) frameworks for flawless project execution from planning to operation.
- Review engineering drawings for new equipment installations to ensure accessibility, maintainability, and adherence to corporate codes.
- Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to prioritize plant equipment based on risk to safety and compliance.
- Customize technical strategies for individual assets based on risk assessments.
Cost and Asset Management:
- Manage Life of Mine (LOM) maintenance budgets with rigorous forecasting and oversight to balance costs with operational output.
- Identify and execute cost-optimization strategies through design refinements and process improvements.
Projects and Change Management:
- Partner with capital project teams to integrate upgrades into workflows with minimal disruption.
- Enforce Management of Change (MOC) protocols to ensure all modifications meet regulatory and safety criteria.
- Conduct technical audits to evaluate adherence to processes and adopt industry-leading practices.
Leadership and Talent Development:
- Coach, mentor, and develop succession pipelines for diverse teams in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and planning disciplines.
- Promote initiatives centered on diversity, equity, inclusion, wellness, and fatigue management to enhance engagement and retention.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications, Certifications & Professional Membership
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Certification by the Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission of Ghana as an Engineering Manager and membership in the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GHiE).
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in process plant maintenance and engineering within the mining sector.
- Proven ability to lead and unify multidisciplinary teams.
- Advanced problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Ghanaian Driving License and proficiency in driving light vehicles.
