We are currently seeking a Technician to join our Geological Services team at our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Accountable to the Supervisor – Geology Services.
This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8 days on /6 days off FIFO roster, we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie. Whilst no direct experience is essential, experience in the Field or Pit would be advantageous.
Accountabilities:
- Processing geological rock samples (diamond core and rock chips) through different stages, in preparation for Geologists to collate data from.
- Preparing rock samples for dispatch to a laboratory.
- Storage, archiving and cataloguing of rock samples.
- Carry out Ore mark ups and installation and pick up of Blast Monitor Balls in the open pit
- Computer work to collate data taken from the rock samples, entry of your daily tasks at the end of shift, updating/compiling procedures.
- Operating vehicles and other equipment safely and as required by the appropriate rules and procedures.
- Completing all tasks in accordance with all relevant safety instructions, procedures and rules and the Duty of Care for employees as legislated.
- Attend and actively participate in safety meetings, training courses and inductions as required
About You

- Ability to work in a team environment with a go-getting nature
- Good numeracy, literacy and communication skills
- Basic computer skills using Microsoft office suite
- Understanding the importance of safety in the workplace for themselves and for their teammates
- Physically capable of performing regular lifting and manual handling of weights up to 4kg
- High Risk Forklift license is highly regarded
- HR Drivers Licence highly regarded
- Current manual C class WA driver’s license
- Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (Mandatory)
- The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
- Prior experience is beneficial, but not essential
