We are now seeking an Electrician to join our Underground Maintenance team in our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Accountable to the Supervisor: Underground Electrical.

This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster, we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Carrying out repairs, maintenance and installation activities on infrastructure such as, motors, VSDs, transformers, substations, starter panels, distribution boards, RMU’s, ventilation fans, dewatering systems, instrumentation, communications, lighting, and other electrical systems
  • Operation of a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining electrical malfunctions
  • Studying plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and or installations
  • Availability after hours on a "Call Out" roster basis to respond to any equipment breakdown
  • Assist with equipment maintenance shutdown co-ordination and execution

 

About You

  • A current A grade electrical worker's licence endorsed "electrical fitter and/or electrical mechanic" issued under the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991
  • A dual trade as an Instrument Technician is desirable, but not essential
  • Experience with instrumentation, Citect, and PLC's
  • Data cabler’s license is desirable but not essential
  • Electrical mining or heavy industrial maintenance experience – Underground Mining experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations, AS/NZS 3000 and other relevant Australian Standards.
  • Currently hold, or be eligible to attain, a high voltage operator switching ticket
  • Electrical panels, wiring and Diagnostic Skills
  • Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Microsoft Projects, and SAP is desirable
  • WA ‘C’ Class manual driver's license
  • Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (mandatory)
  • The ability to obtain a new National Police Clearance
