The Opportunity :
We are currently seeking a permanent Blaster/Painter Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Tropicana Gold Mine. Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent and taking daily direction from the Asset Integrity Supervisor, the position is FIFO 8 days on /6 days roster from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
Role Purpose:
The Asset Integrity (Blaster/Painter) Technician executes tasks in accordance with work management plans for the Mechanical Maintenance function. As the accountable Technician in their area, the role contributes to delivery of an efficient and cost effective mechanical maintenance function, meeting the maintenance strategy to facilitate a sustainable and reliable processing plant operation.
Accountabilities :
- Maintaining a safe workplace, leading by example; whilst promoting a positive safety culture
- Ensuring adherence to site policies and procedures
- Identifying and eliminating hazards with a view of achieving an injury free workplace
- Maximise the plant performance by working to set parameters and ensuring department KPI’s are always met or exceeded.
- Support the Asset Integrity Supervisor by completing all work to specifications set out
- Strong communication, where understanding and support are given to all other departments based on transparent information sharing
About You :

- Prior experience in a similar role working within a multi-discipline maintenance team.
- Extensive experience working in a heavy maintenance environment, including mine sites.
- Heavy industrial spray painting and blasting experience.
- Experience using plural pumps in Polyeuro 1050H application or similar products is highly desirable.
- Concrete rectification experience is highly desirable.
- Willingness to upskill in training and or various tickets including UHPW, Rigging & Bobcat etc
- Hold a current WA C class driver's licence.
- Pass a pre-employment medical and national police clearance.
- Hold permanent ongoing work rights in Australia.
