SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:

 

The Director: Group Reporting is primarily responsible for the Group's US/SEC reporting process including the production of the Annual Form 20-F, the UK Annual Report (excluding the Annual Financial Statements) and the delivery of all the Non-GAAP metrics.

 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage the Groups Reporting process in terms of the production of the Annual Form 20-F, quarterly SEC filings, earnings release and the UK Annual Report (excluding the Annual Financial Statements) and financial inputs in the Sustainability Report.
  • Managing the preparation of the management discussion and analysis section (item 5) of the Form 20-F.
  • Review and modify the quarterly and annual reports to market- in conjunction with Investor Relations- to ensure that disclosed information is useful and relevant to the investor community and analysts and that he information agrees to the accounting records.
  • Advising senior management and relevant finance teams on developments in SEC rules and US regulatory environment.
  • Manage the compilation of all Non-GAAP metrics for the Group.
  • Project manage the yearly overall annual reporting process, including specific support for the UK annual reporting processes due to the change in primary listing, compliance with reporting requirements in  the UK and future requirements from sustainability accounting and reporting.
  • All financial documentation that is submitted to the Group Audit and Risk Committee.
  • Support the SVP and/or VP: Group Controllership to address all ad-hic regulatory comment letters received from SEC.
  • Review iXBRL work done by Workiva for the year-end Form 20-F and half-year end Form 6-K.
  • Maintain relationships and external auditors and manage the 20-F review processes.
  • Maintain relationships with the US Securities lawyers and resolve queries and provide all requested information in response to their review processes.
  • Managing the SOX control process within the Group Reporting team.
  • Participate in year-end SOX meetings to assist in assessing all identified SOX deficiencies and possible impacts with SOX and external audit teams.

 

 

 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant post-graduate degree in Accounting and/or Chartered Accountant, or equivalent qualification.

 

 

REQUIRED GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of SEC rules and US and UK Reporting frameworks and regulations.
  • Sound Financial Reporting and their application.
  • Experience with the accounting for large corporate structures.
  • Experience of working with cross-functional and geographical teams with significant senior level engagement.
  • Managing high performance teams.
  • Experience in managing senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on detail.
  • Project Management and Execution- has an understanding of the “bigger picture” and how this drives projects and business cases.
  • 10 years in the mining industry and/or associated business fields, and which should include corporate reporting/ financial accounting functions.

 

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a full-time, exempt position.

 

COMPENSATION: $200,000- $215,000
