Objective of the role 

 

The incumbent will support the management of a portfolio that requires a high degree of analytical capabilities in the technology industry encompassing IT and OT Software, Hardware, Services, and Telecommunications Networks.

The Manager: Information and Communication Technology serves as a commercial professional with technical acumen to support the Global Category of ICT including the sourcing and procurement of IT/OT products and services, through the management of the global contracts, ensuring to develop sound and robust strategies to support the company’s CIO strategy by driving supplier management negotiations at senior management levels, using cost models, market and product analyses, effective stakeholder management, change control, governance, and compliance. As well as implement cost reduction strategies and apply TCO principles.

 

Education & Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences (Electronic/ Computer Sciences/ Mechanical/ Chemical), Supply Chain, or tertiary education in a related field. MBA preferred.

 

 

General Knowledge & Experience

 

  • Minimum 7-10 years’ business experience in supply chain management and demonstrated managerial proficiency.
  • Experience in diverse workforce and cultures, cyclical growth within a dynamic mining environment.
  • Depth of knowledge and understanding of the main areas of the digital technology industry, i.e.: Software, Hardware, Technology Services, and Telecommunication Networks.
  • Contract Management & Negotiations – Advanced application is required.

Role Accountabilities

 

  • Effective communication among business and technical teams in order to facilitate the delivery of the procurement program required by the annual ICT Commercial Cycle.
  • Oversee the IT and OT specialist performance of market analysis, identify new suppliers, and negotiate contracts to optimise costs, quality, and delivery, while maintaining service levels, and timely delivery of projects.
  • Interpret and derive insights of market quantitative and qualitative information to assess suppliers’ capabilities, TCO, and perform benchmarks, and provide recommendations to support of the decision making process.
  • Establishing and maintaining internal customer relationships with key contract stakeholders to ensure effective management of sourcing activities, and contract management.
  • Stay current with market trends and emerging technologies in the area of IT and OT.
  • Oversee the managing of technical enquiries (price and non-price factors) and RFQ (price only factor), processes and develops, executes, and analyses the results in conformance to the departmental guidance.
  • Evaluate and work with the category specialist to prepare material for negotiations to support the supplier engagements.
  • In-depth understanding of existing contracts and stakeholder requirements.
  • Development of specific sourcing strategies for the assigned industry, researching and writing commercial reports, planning and executing sourcing activities, identifying optimisation opportunities, and alternative sourcing.
  • Execution of strategic sourcing activities for the ICT globally category across regions, including various suppliers.
  • Driving supplier management strategies & negotiations at senior management levels.
  • Management and execution of category specific value plan aligned to the company CIO’s vision.
  • Model overall value based on security of supply, Total Cost of Ownership and end user requirements for major contracts.
  • Use market analysis data to inform category strategies and manage suppliers to ensure sustainable delivery according to AGA demands.
  • Ensure sufficient interface with key stakeholders when developing and communicating category strategies (Global/Regional/Site)
  • Liaising closely with internal customer teams to ensure alignment with their strategies, management, and development of supplier relationships.
  • Implementation of cost reduction and value realisation strategies.

 

 

Remuneration

 

As per the AGA salary scales.
