AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
The Analyst, Logistics at AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials and equipment required to sustain mining and processing operations. The role provides centralized coordination, monitoring, and control over the end-to-end purchasing and delivery lifecycle, safeguarding operational continuity and mitigating supply chain risks.
The Role holder will provide supports for the Goods Procurement function by actively tracking and expediting all purchase orders raised by Buyers and Commodity Leads, managing a high-volume portfolio exceeding 11,000 purchase order lines annually. The Analyst, Logistics ensures that production-critical materials are prioritized and delivered in accordance with operational requirements and performance targets

- Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.
- Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time.
- Act on all corrective actions assigned to you or under your jurisdiction and ensure timely completion
- 100% Compliance to set OHS KPIs and ensure your direct reports also comply with same.
- Zero incidents and zero injuries related to activities I am involved in or under my jurisdiction.
- Monitor and track all purchase orders to ensure timely and complete delivery of goods and materials.
- Expedite critical and delayed orders to prevent production disruptions.
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain accurate order status updates, confirm shipment details, and resolve delivery constraints.
- Align with Engineering, Mining, Processing, Geology, Maintenance, and other support departments to validate material requirements and prioritize urgent demands.
- Coordinate offshore and onshore freight activities, including engagement with freight forwarders, Ports and Harbour Unit (PHU), customs authorities, warehouse teams, and operational departments.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate transport modes and incoterms, balancing cost, urgency, and risk exposure, particularly for overseas procurement.
- Apply standardized systems and tools, including SAP ERP and reporting frameworks, to maintain visibility and control of material flow.
- Investigate and resolve vendor delivery complaints and escalate issues where required.
- Conduct physical verification of deliveries within the warehouse where necessary, in collaboration with relevant supervisors.
- Provide structured and timely updates to Procurement and operational stakeholders on order status and emerging risks.
- Evaluate supplier delivery performance and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in sourcing decisions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance expediting efficiency, logistics performance, and cost optimization.
- Maintain compliance with procurement governance standards and uphold segregation of duties.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Logistics, CIPS, Engineering, Economics
Experience
- At least Three (3) years’ experience working in a supply chain environment
- A working knowledge of goods procurement in mining, oil & gas or heavy industrial equipment operations.
- Familiarity with SAP ERP system or equivalent ERP application is a requirement
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain management principles and practices.
- Ability to link transport modes, incoterms, cost structures, and associated risks in logistics decision-making.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in SAP ERP, Microsoft Office Suite, and related supply chain systems
- Ability to engage with all different disciplines throughout various levels of the workforce including management Excellent negotiation and consultation skills communication, and report writing skills in English

- Mentorship & coaching Demonstrated capacity to interpret data and successfully action sound short-term tactical decisions
- Commercial acumen relevant to the role
