Senior Specialist, TSF Projects

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

The Senior Specialist, TSF Projects is accountable for the planning, execution, supervision, and control of all Tailings Storage Facility construction activities, ensuring alignment with approved designs, safety standards, regulatory requirements, budget, and schedule objectives.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Technical Oversight: Supervise embankment construction, piping, and instrumentation; enforce QA/QC systems and ITP approvals.
• Project Management: Monitor schedules against budgets, review contractor claims, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams (technical, legal, and social).
• Safety & Compliance: Champion a zero-harm culture, ensuring full compliance with MSHA/OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Leadership: Mentor site teams and manage complex contractor relationships using FIDIC standards.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Construction Management.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• 10+ years in heavy civil construction (TSFs/dams), including 3–5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Deep geotechnical knowledge
• FIDIC Red Book, Candy CCS, Standard AutoCAD, MS Projects
• Experience managing high-value bulk earthworks contracts.
• High EQ, diplomatic influence, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in politically sensitive contexts.
