AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as per the details below:

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

The Specialist, TSF Projects is accountable for the technical planning, execution, and oversight of Tailings Storage Facility projects, ensuring full compliance with approved designs, safety systems, regulatory requirements, schedules, budgets, and the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM).

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Technical Execution: Validate TSF designs, lead constructability assessments, and oversee QA/QC for earthworks, liners, and drainage.
• Monitoring & Engineering: Manage instrumentation (piezometers, inclinometers) and interpret data to trigger response plans (TARPs) when necessary.
• Project Controls: Develop detailed schedules, manage critical path delivery, and implement recovery plans to address slippages.
• Spatial & Stakeholder Integration: Coordinate with community and GIS teams to translate complex data into visuals for land access and resettlement decisions.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering.
• PE/P.Eng and PMP are highly desirable

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• 5–8 years in Tailigns, dam, or large-scale earthworks projects within a mining or heavy civil environment.
• Advanced geotechnical expertise, water balance knowledge, and proficiency in project cost/schedule controls.
• High integrity for handling sensitive data, cultural sensitivity for community engagement, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.
