AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine has been redeveloped to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
Responsible for the overall maintenance strategy, reliability, availability, safety and cost-effective operation of light vehicles and service trucks supporting surface infrastructure. The role ensures statutory compliance, operational efficiency, and alignment with business production and logistics objectives.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead fleet safety, HSE compliance and risk management with zero-tolerance for breaches.
- Manage maintenance planning, execution and continuous improvement of light vehicle assets.
- Drive reliability, availability and cost optimisation of fleet operations.
- Lead, develop and performance-manage engineering and maintenance teams.
- Oversee budgeting, cost control and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Implement asset management strategies aligned to Life-of-Mine planning.
- Ensure quality standards, inspections, reporting and KPI tracking across refurbishment and maintenance works.
- Collaborate with procurement on inventory, spares and consumables management.
- Support operational readiness, work planning and organisational capability development.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering
Experience
- 5+ years’ relevant experience or Engineering Diploma with 10+ years’ relevant experience.
- Valid Engineering Superintendent / Sectional / Inspecting Engineer Certificate of Competence (Minerals Commission).
- Professional Engineer registration (GhIE or IET-GH) advantageous.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven engineering maintenance experience within mining or heavy industry.
- Strong leadership, team management and stakeholder engagement capability.
- Advanced technical knowledge in mining engineering environments.
- Budgeting, planning and resource allocation proficiency.
