AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine has been redeveloped to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

 

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as per the details below:

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

Responsible for the overall maintenance strategy, reliability, availability, safety and cost-effective operation of light vehicles and service trucks supporting surface infrastructure. The role ensures statutory compliance, operational efficiency, and alignment with business production and logistics objectives.

 

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead fleet safety, HSE compliance and risk management with zero-tolerance for breaches.
  • Manage maintenance planning, execution and continuous improvement of light vehicle assets.
  • Drive reliability, availability and cost optimisation of fleet operations.
  • Lead, develop and performance-manage engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Oversee budgeting, cost control and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Implement asset management strategies aligned to Life-of-Mine planning.
  • Ensure quality standards, inspections, reporting and KPI tracking across refurbishment and maintenance works.
  • Collaborate with procurement on inventory, spares and consumables management.
  • Support operational readiness, work planning and organisational capability development. 

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

 

Education & Qualification

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in engineering

 

Experience

  • 5+ years’ relevant experience or Engineering Diploma with 10+ years’ relevant experience.
  • Valid Engineering Superintendent / Sectional / Inspecting Engineer Certificate of Competence (Minerals Commission).
  • Professional Engineer registration (GhIE or IET-GH) advantageous.

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proven engineering maintenance experience within mining or heavy industry.
  • Strong leadership, team management and stakeholder engagement capability.
  • Advanced technical knowledge in mining engineering environments.
  • Budgeting, planning and resource allocation proficiency.
