AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as per the details below:

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

The Supervisor, CIC – KMS is responsible for planning, monitoring, training, and controlling the work output for all Controls, Instrumentation, and Communication (CIC) aspects of the KMS Underground operations. You will apply operational policies and standards to maximize plant availability in a cost-effective manner while minimizing operational risks to meet strategic business objectives

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Infrastructure & Maintenance: Conduct periodic audits and reviews of CIC infrastructure during refurbishment and maintenance to identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Asset Monitoring: Assist in developing condition monitoring routes, monitor the physical condition of CIC assets, and generate work requests in SAP as required.
• Technical Support: Support the CIC Engineer on all technical works, participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and carry out simulations on equipment alterations.
• Training & Development: Lead on-the-job training for employees in control and network systems, ensure compliance with LI2182 provisions, and coordinate with the Training section for both internal and external sessions.
• Standard Operating Procedures: Assist in compiling and updating SOPs for new CIC control systems and ensure all KMS personnel are trained on these updated standards.
• Project Oversight: Monitor OEM/Vendor training for new installations and continuously identify opportunities to improve cost, safety, and quality outcomes for underground mining activities

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics or Computer) with 3+ years of experience; OR
• Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics or Computer) per Reg. 51 & 54 LI2182 with 5+ years of experience; OR
• Technician Part III Certificate with 5+ years of experience in engineering operations.
• Sectional Engineer or Inspecting Engineer Certificate of Competence from the IDMC.
• Must be a professionally certified engineer with a recognized body.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Proven background in CIC maintenance, preferably within the extractive industry.
• Experience managing Maintenance and Repair Contracts (MARC) and third-party contractors.
• Practical knowledge of radio/telephone communication installations and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with the SAP PM module and project management principles.

• Strong competencies in process automation, fixed plant maintenance, and QC/QA.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels, from technical teams to Executive management.
• A "hands-on" approach with the ability to work long hours and meet diverse engineering challenges under pressure.
• Sound decision-making skills and a proactive approach to customer and operational requirements.
