AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
The Technical Mining Assistant (Shiftboss Trainee) Program aims to develop Graduate Mining Engineers by undergoing a well-structured training program to develop the technical, operational, and leadership competencies required to perform the duties of a Shiftboss. Successful candidates will be trained in underground mining supervision, safety management, production coordination, and team leadership to ensure safe and efficient mining operations. The Training Programme seeks to add value to Graduate Mining Engineers by harnessing your skills and creativity to take up future challenging roles within the Mining Discipline.

As a Technical Mining Assistant (Shiftboss Trainee), you shall be exposed to the following training and development areas:
- On-the-job training and development programs to gain Production Process Development and Implementation.
- Training in coordinating Mining Regulatory Compliance and Knowledge Management
- Exposure to production budget planning and cost management.
- Production performance and target delivery.
- All safety procedures and protocols related to the underground environment.
- Team capability development and performance management.
- Drive project Implementation and continuous improvement by fostering a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within the production team.
- Experience in mining development and production processes & practices (Advanced Application).
- You will participate in Operational Management, planning and mining contract management

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering.
- Applicants must have had at least two (2) two years post-graduation (including National Service) exposure to underground mining operations.
