The Obuasi Redevelopment Project has attained its original project schedule to become a modern efficient processing and underground mechanized operation, and it is now moving to achieving study state operation with the final aim of achieving 5000 tonnes per day processing.
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as per the details below:

ROLE PURPOSE
To provide essential administrative support to project teams and oversee the contractual relationship between Mining and its contractors, ensuring compliance to AGAG standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.
- Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time.
- Act on all corrective actions assigned and ensure timely completion.
- Investigate all environmental incidents in assigned work areas and prepare reports with recommendations for the Departmental Manager for onward submission to the Environmental Manager or his representative.
- Ensure contractors comply with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Coordinate the onboarding of contractors, ensuring all documentations are verified and that contractors meet safety, regulatory, and company compliance standards.
- Monitor contractor performance against scope, quality, and timelines, identifying and escalating any performance issues or non-compliance.
- Coordinate and review contractor timesheets, work completion, and invoicing.
- Ensure data accuracy and confidentiality in all contractor records.
- Support internal and external audits by providing the required documentation.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and track action items.
- Assist in the delivering the work of the Contracts function within approved budget targets and specified timeframes, costs and related KPIs.
- Actively support the implementation of projects and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the operations and project team.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Project Management.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years relevant experience in a similar role.
- Contract management in a mining or construction environment is acceptable.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, negotiation, and risk management within the mining industry
- Ability to analyse complex contract terms, identify potential risks, and propose mitigating actions
Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge in contract management practices and demonstrate ability in supporting operational mining contracts. Provide essential administrative support to project teams and oversee the contractual relationship between mining and its contractors, ensuring compliance to AGAG standards.
- Financial interpretation and data interpretation/analyses
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and writing skills
- Skills in Business improvement and managing change
- Strategic exposure to business will be an added advantage
