ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.

Role Purpose
The Superintendent – Land Acquisition & GIS Data will be responsible for managing land access and GIS data to support the company's land take, compensation processes and community development initiatives
Role Accountabilities
- Manage land access requests, negotiations, and agreements with landowners, communities, and government agencies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain GIS databases to store and manage spatial data related to land access, community asset survey, baseline studies, other compensation related data requirements, and community development activities
- Analyze GIS data and provide reports to support business decisions, including land access, baseline studies, information on PAPs, and development on the company’s concession.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including landowners, communities, government agencies, and internal teams to ensure effective land access and resettlement management and GIS data management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to land access and community development practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance on land acquisition for community projects.
Key requirements & Qualifications
- BSc. Geomatic Engineering, Geography and Regional Planning, Land Economy, or its equivalent from a reputable institution.
- A certificate in Drone piloting or operation will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in community development practice and stakeholder management best practices.
- Hands-on practice in land acquisition and resettlement project at both operational and tactical levels.
- Proficient in general local and international sustainable development standards and practices.
Experience
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in land access management, GIS data management, or related field preferably within the mining sector.
Other Competencies
- Knowledge of land access laws and regulations, GIS data management, and mining industry practices.
- Thorough understanding of Safety in the mining industry.
- Thorough understanding of Minerals and Mining, Compensation and Resettlement Regulation 2012 (L.I 2175), Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703) and the IFC Performance Standard 5.
- Strong presentation, report writing, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good human relations and ability to interact with people of diverse culture and values.
- Medical fitness for the position and the environment
- Must possess valid driving license and proficiency in driving light vehicle.
