THE OPPORTUNITY

Join Iduapriem Mine as the Director: Geology and Exploration, leading a critical function that drives the sustainable growth of mineral resources and supports gold production delivery through comprehensive exploration, precise resource modelling, and exemplary geological governance. This senior leadership role offers the chance to shape the geology and exploration strategy, ensuring the continued success and technical excellence of our operations within the Africa Business Unit.

As the Director, you will spearhead all aspects of the exploration program, providing visionary leadership and strategic oversight that aligns with corporate growth objectives. Your expertise will directly influence the company's resource base expansion, operational efficiency, and compliance with international standards. This role is based at the Iduapriem Mine and reports to senior executive leadership.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Develop and drive the Iduapriem exploration strategy ensuring alignment with broader company growth ambitions and market dynamics.
• Identify, evaluate, and pursue new exploration opportunities including acquisitions, joint ventures, and greenfield as well as brownfield exploration projects to build a sustainable resource base.
• Lead long-term resource growth planning and devise reserve replacement strategies that secure future mining operations.
• Provide expert counsel to executive leadership and the Board of Directors on geological risks, opportunities, and strategic decisions.
• Approve and oversee drilling programs, budget allocations, and resource modelling methodologies ensuring technical accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage the integrity and reporting of geological data, ensuring compliance with international reporting standards such as JORC or NI 43-101.
• Lead and nurture a high-performing team of geologists and technical specialists through mentorship, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Develop succession plans and build technical capabilities within the geology and exploration teams to ensure future leadership readiness.
• Ensure best practices in mineral resource estimation, classification, and annual reporting in line with AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) corporate guidance.
• Provide technical oversight for feasibility studies and life-of-mine planning to support operational decision-making.
• Oversee all grade control drilling activities, sampling quality assurance and control (QAQC) procedures, and monitor external assay laboratory performance to maintain high data quality standards.
• Manage ore mining, stockpile control, and production tracking to minimize ore loss and dilution, optimizing the grade delivered to the processing plant.
• Drive mine-to-mill reconciliation processes by identifying operational improvement areas and implementing effective solutions.
• Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory and statutory reporting requirements, and support the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments within exploration activities.

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the following qualifications, experience, and competencies:

Qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree (MSc) or Bachelor’s Degree with Honours (BSc Hons) in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field.

Experience & Skills:

• At least 15 years of progressive experience in mining geology and exploration, specifically within open pit gold operations.
• A minimum of 8 years in senior leadership roles, managing geology teams and delivering exploration programs.
• Proven expertise in mineral resource estimation, exploration planning, and mine geology with a track record of success.
• Eligible to obtain the Minerals Commission competency certificate for Geology Manager and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Advanced capabilities in 3D geological modelling and resource estimation software.
• Experience acting as a Mineral Resource Qualified Person (QP) for gold mineralization and familiarity with international resource reporting standards.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate complex geological data into actionable business plans.
• Demonstrated financial and commercial acumen relevant to budgeting, costing, and economic evaluation of exploration projects.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills at executive and operational levels.
• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks governing mining and exploration activities within Ghana and internationally.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance work culture focused on safety, innovation, and sustainability.
