ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
- You will be responsible for performing preventive and regular maintenance on assigned mechanical systems to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime. This role is hands‑on, collaborative, and essential to the continuous operation of our plant.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Complete safety work permits accurately and strictly follow lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) procedures before starting any task.
- Coordinate and execute maintenance activities within set timeframes to ensure ancillary equipment operates efficiently.
- Oversee installation, inspection, servicing, and repairs of ancillary equipment to reduce breakdowns and improve reliability.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery components in line with planned maintenance schedules.
- Report shortages of spare parts and materials promptly to supervisors or superintendents.
- Promote safe work practices and uphold ethical standards within the maintenance team.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment across the plant.
- Provide hands‑on support during critical maintenance activities and unexpected breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues on trucks, cranes and heavy‑duty equipment.
- Conduct daily inspections, servicing and maintenance on designated equipment.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Mechanical/Auto Engineering Certificate Part III, HND Mechanical/Auto Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Experience
- A minimum of five years’ hands-on experience in Ancillary Equipment Maintenance with practical exposure to servicing and maintaining equipment such as:
- Mercedes Benz heavy-duty vehicles
- Volvo heavy-duty vehicles
- MAN Diesel fire tender trucks
- Grove mobile cranes
- Caterpillar equipment
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to report accidents, incidents, and near misses, and actively participate in safety investigations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to manage physically demanding tasks and maintain high work standards even during extended hours.
- Valid Ghanaian driver’s license and proficiency in operating light vehicles.
