Senior Operator-Crusher Plant

ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

To monitor the conveyor belt and remove any foreign materials from the feed upon detection to prevent possible blockages in chutes to always ensure effective functioning of the belt. 

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Monitor the conveyor belts and inspect all discharge and receiving chutes to avoid
• Report any deviations on the conveyor belts (Rollers) to the supervisor and the control room operator.

• Document all deviations picked into the daily logbook.

• Inspect the dust suppression systems to ensure it operational.
• Conduct inspection at the working area and complete the checklist.
• Always ensure good housekeeping.
• Take hourly CVR-12 weight meter readings for control operator.
• Monitor the primary crusher shaft position to produce appropriate feed size.
• Ensure that all metals trapped by metal detector and trap magnet are removed

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• O’ level, A’ level, Middle School leaving Certificate, HND or SSCE or it equivalent and should be computer literate

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in crushing plant.
• Operating SCADA or PLC-based systems
• Monitoring alarms, trends, and plant performance
• Adjusting parameters remotely for optimal efficiency
• Responding quickly to system warnings.
