OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

 

  • Manage labor and industrial relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws and collective agreements while fostering constructive relationships and resolving workplace disputes effectively.

 

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Build constructive relationships with labor unions, employee representatives, and management, and facilitate communication on workplace matters.
  • Participate in collective bargaining, develop negotiation strategies, and ensure compliance with collective agreements.
  • Investigate grievances and disciplinary matters, mediate disputes, and guide managers on employee relations issues.
  • Ensure compliance with labor legislation and workplace regulations and advise management on changes in labor laws.
  • Develop, review, and implement employee relations policies and conduct awareness programs on labor laws and workplace rights.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on industrial relations activities and analyze workforce data to identify emerging issues.

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

 

Education & Qualification

 

  • Degree in Human Resources, Management, Industrial Relations, Labor Studies, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or professional certification in Industrial Relations or Human Resource Management is an advantage.

 

Experience

 

  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in labor relations, employee relations, or human resources.
  • Experience working with labor unions and collective bargaining processes is preferred.

 

Knowledge & Skills

 

  • Strong knowledge of labor and employment laws.
  • Excellent negotiation, mediation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
  • Must possess valid Ghanaian Driving Licence and proficiency to drive light vehicle.
