The Opportunity 


The Stakeholder Engagement Specialist will support the Social Performance team in implementing the Teberebie Relocation Project. The role focuses on building, maintaining and implementing positive relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, and promoting successful project outcomes

 

Accountabilities:

  • Modelling behaviour that is consistent with the AGA Safety Vision and Values, assisting in driving a culture where Safety is our first value, and providing support for incident/accident investigations where required.
  • Develop Engagement Strategy: Create and implement a forward-looking engagement strategy for stakeholders, including PAPs, traditional authorities, and local government.
  • Implement Stakeholder Engagement Plans: Develop and implement comprehensive plans, including communication strategies, consultation processes, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Build Stakeholder Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, fostering trust and mutual understanding.
  • Facilitate Stakeholder Engagement: Organize meetings, workshops, and trainings to engage stakeholders, gather feedback, and address concerns.
  • Ensure Compensation Payments: Oversee payment of compensation to PAPs through approved processes and procedures.
    Support Contract Negotiation Committee (CNC) and Resettlement Monitoring Committee (RMC): Assist with administrative work and ensure effective communication.
  • Monitor and Report: Track stakeholder engagement outcomes, evaluate effectiveness, and provide regular updates and reports
  • Perform Additional Duties: Complete tasks assigned by the Senior Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

University degree in Land Management and Administration, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or Communication.
Professional membership in a land management institution or project management

 


EXPERIENCE

 

  • Minimum 6 years' experience in Stakeholder Engagement Role in mining or related industry.
  • Thorough understanding of mining regulations and standards (L.I 2175, Act 703, IFC Performance Standard
  • Strong presentation, report writing, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong people management skills and knowledge of local culture and traditions.
  • Ability to outline goals, define targets, and facilitate group processes.
  • Medical fitness for the position and environment.
  • Valid driving license and proficiency in driving light vehicles
