The Electrical Engineer will work directly with Community Infrastructure Superintendent. The role is accountable for ensuring the Electrical refurb and new build, later maintenance, delivers project output. The role holder will be accountable for implementation and supervision of construction, specifications, standards, and safe workmanship to ensure the timely completion of project works. The role holder will monitor to ensure that the team meets the set key performance indicator (KPI) targets. The role holder will also provide informative and timely reports to Project Manager on the performance and status of the Electrical standards, specifications, and efficiency of the projects.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work according to total quality management principles & ensure zero defect objectives & safety
- Implement company safety standards and programs
- Assessing health and environment safety risks in the project.
- Enforce implementation of Safety Management Plan (SMP) for all projects.
- Assessing contractors’ safety performance and ensuring contractors compliance to Safety KPIs
- Demonstrate Safety behaviour that is consistent with AGAG’s vision and values
- Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan
- Implement company Environmental standards and programs
- Assessing health and environment safety risks in the project.
- Enforce implementation of Environmental Management Plan (EMP) for all projects.
- Assessing contractors’ Environmental performance and ensuring contractors compliance to Environmental KPIs
- Assess Environmental impact on the community before, during and after project execution in the community
- Work with stakeholders on operational project and progress monitoring in gathering information for reports on compliant progress
- Review, approve, and sign-off the detailed electrical execution plan and schedule, infrastructure detailed design requirements, detailed testing plans, operational commissioning plans, handover plans, training plans, manuals, records, drawings, specifications, and documents issued.
- Deliver infrastructure requirements consistent with the procurement and contracting strategy, which addresses the construction time, cost, and quality risks.
- Ensure to specify, design, analyze and verify new components and systems.
- Ensure cost impacts in area of accountability are evaluated, approved and budget is revised.
- Review the application of safety standards and work practices for the electrical construction and contracts workforce to enable the safety targets to be managed and achieved.
- Oversee all relevant inspections and testing procedures to ensure quality and/or performance is in line with specifications, designs, and requirements.
- Review and provide feedback regarding contractor's progress claims and invoice.
- Advise progress and KPI status in a timely manner to the management team, particularly potential cost, and schedule or quality variances.
- Identify and communicate potential cost reduction initiatives for contractors.
- Propose cost savings projects.
- Monitor contractor
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Qualification:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Financial, commercial and project management through work experience and courses
Experience:
• An experienced Electrical maintenance and or design engineer with 5+ years’ experience in, preferably,
project space
• Experience in management of Maintenance and Repair Contracts (MARC)
• Experience in Project Management
• Knowledge of SAP PM module.
• Experience in QA/QC Management
